Hope Social Supermarket is a membership-based support service aimed at helping individuals and families in financial hardship across Northampton.
It provides access to affordable food and essential goods, while also offering holistic support to help people move towards long-term stability and independence.
Open Tuesday-Thursday 10:00am till 2:00pm
Membership required to access our shop.
Tier 1 - Crisis membership
For individuals or families in immediate financial crisis.
Members receive up to 50 free points, which can be used to access food and essentials. A maximum of 20 points can be used per week. To access this support, members must meet with a progress worker to identify needs and create a personalised support plan, which may include help with debt, benefits, immigration, or enrolling in training programs.
Tier 2 - Hardship membership
For those who are no longer in crisis but still need ongoing support.
Members buy points at 50p each (a minimum of 4 points per purchase, with a maximum of 20 points per week that can be spent). They must remain engaged with their progress worker and participate in training sessions focused on well-being, life skills, employment, and financial guidance.
Tier 3 - Transition membership
Designed for people who are ready to move towards independence.
Points cost 75p, (minimum of 4 points per purchase, maximum 20 points per week can be spent). Regular meetings with a progress worker continue, though training is optional.
We rely heavily on the support of our community to ensure we have enough food to feed people from across Northampton. We welcome any donations you can make at all times during the year.
