Hardship

Support during hardship

Hope in the Community

Hope in the Community is here to support people living in financial hardship by helping our guests who use our service to build their confidence, self-esteem, emotional well-being, recovery from substances, independent living skills, and employability.

Upskilling and training

We work in partnership to upskill front line workers and volunteers so they are better able to support the needs of the local community.

We take referrals & bookings

Although we provide food crisis support, we do not provide support to people in crisis as a result of alcohol, substance misuse or acute mental health challenges. Where someone presents in crisis, we will signpost to other partners and charities who are structured to provide crisis support, such as the NHS Mental Health  Hub, Mind, S2S and Bridge.

We can support our guests not in immediate crisis to manage alcohol, substance and mental health challenges as part of their everyday activity through some of our group training.

We do not provide case work. We offer access to training, food and activities. Where additional support is required, we will help our guests navigate to the right support/organisation, but do not directly provide personalised case work support services.
