SEVERE WEATHER EMERGENCY PROTOCOL (SWEP)
OPERATING TONIGHT (FRIDAY, 26 NOVEMBER) UNTIL AT LEAST 9.00AM ON MONDAY, 29 NOVEMBER
West Northants SWEP has been activated today after consultation between key partners in response to the Met Office’s forecast of low overnight temperatures and high winds.
During these 3 nights, people who are sleeping rough in the West Northants area will be provided with somewhere safe, warm, and dry to stay.
All known rough sleepers either have been or will be contacted and provided with details of how to access the emergency accommodation. However, if you know someone who is sleeping rough in Northampton, Daventry, or South Northants areas and requires access to the accommodation, please advise them to contact the relevant locality team by calling 0300 126 7000.
During the morning of Monday 29 November 2021, the Met Office weather forecast will be reviewed and a decision will be made on whether or not the SWEP provision should continue to operate after this date.
