The Northampton Hope Centre are welcoming their first tenants to their new house. The House which will take 5 residents will be open for those needing support and have so far been unable to find it elsewhere.
Jo (pictured here) is one of the team from hope who has worked tirelessly along with the organisation “Stepping Stones” to get the house ready to open it’s doors today.
“it’s a brilliant project and one which Hope have been wanting to achieve for many years now. Tonight we know that we can help get more people off the streets and have a safe nights sleep”
The House, which Hope has set up in conjunction with the “Stepping Stones” project, seeks to not only house 5 people but also support them in their tenancies.
Head of Service Delivery at Hope, Lee Coyle, explained “what makes this project unique is our offer to those who have ‘No Recourse To Public Funds’, this is a project that will help those who until now have been excluded from any housing provision. They will no longer be turned away but have somewhere safe to go”
Each tenant will be welcomed with a food parcel (courtesy of Natasha from the Loving Chef) and a welcome pack (supplied by ELA). Furnishings and electrics have been supplied by the generous Bill and Fran and the amazing teams at Nationwide Northampton Branches .
The initial investigation of housing was funded by the Nationwide Community Grants program whose belief it is that “Everyone should have a place fit to call home”; we couldn’t agree more!
Good Luck to all who will be supported in the house, we wish you well.
